Happy Mother's Day!

What a beautiful week-end! There was a little bit of rain on sunday morning but, apart from that, the weather was really pleasant. And we can say that Elise took the most of it. Who said that one needs a swimming pool? She had so much fun in the trampoline!

Photobucket

Photobucket

I must say that I also enjoyed it very much, comfortably lying on our deck chairs. And Hervé was, I think, the happiest, spreading seeds of je-ne-sais-quoi in the lawn (see the dandelions, re one of my previous posts). Poor Lucas! He spent more than 4 hours indoors for he had his karate boards breaking lesson as well as a special 2-hour combat course he chose to take to improve his technique. But he is getting really good. We are not far from the brown belt!

Photobucket

As almost every day now, we also had to endure ANOTHER Mixmania 2 show. Elise is completely hooked (as most of the little girls of her age, I guess). She watched the same rebroadcast for the 4th time on Saturday and then listened to the videos on YouTube, singing out loud. We even have the apps on the iPod now.

Photobucket

I am still working hard to make layouts for our Mexico album. I'd like to finish it for Father's day... On top of the fact that I don't want to delay this too much, our next trip being in less than two months from now and there will probably be a LOT of new pictures to scrapbook!

Lazy Afternoon by Studio 68 and Trail Map Collection 2 by Roadside Designs available at CatScraps

Photobucket

And, Felt Up No. 1 by Creashen and Spring Days Collection 2 by Roadside Designs and Jimbo Jambo Designs available at CatScraps

Funny to see that the next year-end show is happening next week for Elise and I still did not make all the layouts about last year event. That's exactly what I was saying a few lines before: I'd better kick myself to scrapbook pictures as they come...

Busy, busy day!

What a busy day we had yesterday!!! And this is without mentionning all the iNSD activities that were going on at Mscraps. It started with a good breakfast before our body pump training at 8:00AM. Yes, this week, I bought English muffins and smoked ham and Elise et Lucas were really thrilled to have something new for breakfast. Actually, they liked it so much that they said they would have it again several days in a row. Well, the fact that I used heart and star molds to cook the eggs probably helped a lot in making this a fun experience!

Photobucket

Photobucket

And, to make this a full breakfast meal, we added a freshly made smoothie with bananas, raspberries (from the garden), vanilla and orange juice. Yummy!!! And way to go for a very active day!

Photobucket

Of course, after this, I did not really need any snack between the body pump training and the steps and aerobics!!! Actually, I had to skip the aerobics since Lucas had a breaking boards training, on top of his regular karate course. Yes, Breaking boards is a karate technique that requires skills and training. Poor Lucas, he also had a pretty busy day with his 2 hours of karate and then his friend's birthday (24-h at his friend's, biking, cinema, pyjama party, etc).

In the afternoon, Elise insisted in playing with Fimo polymer clay. Her first attempt in making bright-colored lollipops was not really a success: she did not monitor the time for baking the clay and we ended up with burnt lollipops! LOL

Photobucket

Then, she decided to make a caterpillar. Isn't it cute? I like how she did not give up and tried again until she got it right. It was very much in line with the quote from Thomas Edison I had just seen at Energie Cardio the same morning: "Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time." I loooooove this quote, sure I am going to use it somewhere in a layout.

Photobucket

And you can notice the beautiful dandelions we have in the garden. Yes, it is that time of the year AGAIN! Well, don't missunderstand me: I am not the kind of woman who hate dandelions and would like a perfect lawn. I actually like dandelions. But, when you have a "Hervé" in your house, dandelions' time means salads of dandelion leaves on the table everyday with all the soil and dirt a man can leave on the kitchen counter when bringing them in. Yark!

Then, Elise went to Myriam's birthday. Do we need to mention how many times we had to act as taxi drivers this day? EducaZoo was there with many kinds of exotic animals for the girls to see, touch and learn about.

Photobucket

Among the animals were a turtle, a lizard, a guinea pig and snakes!!!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Although the girls enjoyed all of the animals, the majority agreed that their favorite was the ferret, it was so funny. But it was also the only animal Elise did not want to touch, the reason being that you had to hold the animal putting one of your hands under its buttocks.

Before we went for dinner at our friends', we also had to go to Montreal to vote for the French President. Elise and Lucas already had their mind made and they tried to influence our choice leaving these ads on the kitchen table. So funny!!!

Photobucket

I doubt they get who they want for president...

May challenges are up at Mscraps!!!

Well, they have actually been up a while ago (since the beginning of the month), but I am a little behind on my blog schedule. Yes, AGAIN!!!

This month, I am hosting the ad challenge. You can join here and earn points towards a gift certificate to treat you with anything you'd like in the store.

I chose the ad for the big image and the doodling but I also like the quote very much "ideas are only as good as their inspiration".

Photobucket

And this is how I interpreted the ad:

iNSD week-end at Mscraps!

YAY! iNSD week-end is finally here and it is going to be filled with some awesome goodies! First, you don't want to miss the amazing sale happening right now at Mscraps along with the challenges and party. Lots of fun going on!

The girls from the Creative Team and the Designers Crew at Mscraps are celebrating with a huge iNSD Blog Train and Facebook Hop!!! The train leaves the Mscraps blog station at 6PM GMT, but if not all stations are up and running, don't despair, just check back a little later as some are in different time zones- just bookmark to come back later if not up yet).

Once you will have picked up all the goodies along the way, this is what you will end up with, in addition to templates and quick pages.

Photobucket

I am REALLY excited with this particular blog train since I am trying something completely new. YES, for the first time ever, my contribution is not a quick page, nor a template, but some elements and papers coordinating with the kit! I don't know if this will be the beginning of a new era but this is definitely thrilling!!!

Photobucket

You can grab my portion right here.

You would have come from Scooty (Marie-Eve)'s site

And now, you can head over to Suzanne (fruitysuet)'s blog

We will be happy to see what you have made with this blog train goodies, so please come post on the MScraps Gallery.

If you get lost along the way, you can go back to the start of the blog train, where all stops are listed, by going to the MScraps iNSD blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy your journey.

My first-ever jewelry sale!

A few weeks ago, I was at a party event gathering colleagues and ex-colleagues and one of my good friends was just amazed by the piece of jewelry I was wearing. It was the silver color necklace with white, burgandi and pink pearls cluster that I had made not long before. My friend asked me where I bought it and I said that I could make one for her because it was actually my own creation! "Choose whatever color you want." And this is what I came up with for her:

Photobucket Photobucket

And, yesterday, there was a big event at L'Oiseau Bleu and I had the opportunity to make this cute little bookmark. I think Élise and I already found what her friends and her are going to make at her birthday party!!!

Photobucket Photobucket

I must admit that I am quite proud of it. Well, now, I should perhaps try and develop this new activity considering what is coming by the end of the month (closing of the company I am working with)... Well, that's another one among the thousand things I am planning to do once I loose my job. And I just realized that there will only be one little month before we will be on vacation and flying to Paris, end of June. Mmmmmmh... Not sure I'll get a chance to make a lot of jewelry pieces after all!
